The Rat Whisperer

Last week I asked Cole what he would like to do and he said, "See animals." This means, go to the free zoo- PetSmart or PetCo.
While we were there he meowed at the cats, watched the dogs get their hair cut, checked out the fish & birds, and peeked in and said hello to all the rats. At every cage the rats would come up to the glass to see him.

Watch out TLC's "Dog Whisperer" there's a new kid in town...the Rat Whisper. He's kinda like the Pied Piper.

Hmmm

Things that have made me go hmmmm...the past few days:

1. Ninja blender commercial boasts "YOU'D EXPECT TO PAY $500" (all caps because the commercial is loud and kinda yells at you) "BUT YOU WON'T! YOU WON'T PAY $400, 300, or even $200! You pay just 5 easy payments of $49.95!!!"

Ok, I know I'm not super fast at math, but I do know how to round and add quickly and that, Ninja commercial, is $250. Oh, but then they knock off 1 payment if you call now. Oh now I see, I'll only pay $199.80. That is a lot less than the $200 I WOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY.
I don't want a Ninja anyways but I don't like their advertising.

2. Scrambled Eggs, FROZEN in a BOX. hmmm. Really? What is the advantage of this? In the time it takes to heat up these prepackaged scrambled eggs, you could make them yourself. And the only ingredients would probably only be eggs and water. Or eggs and milk depending on how you make your eggs. The only things I could come up with are.... You really like scrambled eggs and in the chance you run out of eggs, you want to have back up scrambled eggs in your freezer. Or, scenario 2- you are going on a trip and eggs might break and you really want scrambled eggs. That's it. That's all I could come up with. And, now I have spent way too much time thinking about eggs in a box.

Soap Ziti

Tonight I made a pasta with turkey, zucchini, squash and tomato sauce. It looked great and tasted like soap. Yep, soap. I washed the pot before I boiled the pasta and I guess all of the soapy residue did not make it out even though I rinsed and rinsed because I was worried that would happen. When I started eating it and telling Brad it tasted like soap, he was being nice saying he couldn't taste it. UNTIL, I explained it really WAS soap that he was tasting, not just a soap-like flavor. {and....he spit it out.} At this point we all decided that we could not eat the dinner I spent 45 minutes making and resorted to plan B...Chick-fil-a. Oh well, they can't all be home runs.

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner!

Y'all, I won! I never win! After entering who knows how many blog giveaways... I finally won! My parents are super lucky winners of everything and I feel like the luck stops there. But not today! Lucky number 37 pulled through...

I found this blog through Pinterest the other night while up with Hallie. It was having a giveaway for "Buddy Fruits"- a company that makes little fruit snacks and fruit to go in pouches for little ones. I thought, "Why not enter? Might as well someone has to win." And, yes that someone is ME. The comment form made you leave your email address so I thought she had it...turns out she did not. And, I needed to contact her within 24 hours or she would pick a new winner. She hasn't picked a new winner, but I think I'm outside the 24 hours call so I'm still hoping I win. :( fingers crossed. I'll let you know.

Now, I hope I'll be able to go back to sleep I'm so excited! Wait, what am I saying?
Sleep- of course!

Lately...

We took Cole to the zoo to celebrate turning TWO! He had a great time. I actually took pictures with my real camera instead of my phone so who knows when they'll make it off of there and onto the blog. Soon hopefully!

At the zoo...
"Cole, you've got a great view up there on Pop's shoulders! You can see all sorts of things!"

"Cole see Pop's head."
(He 99% of the time refers to himself in 3rd person)

Yesterday was Hallie's TWO MONTH birthday! What?! How did two months go by so quickly?! She SMILED at Cole for the first time yesterday. It was so so sweet. She's been smiling at us for the past few weeks, but yesterday she was looking right at him and gave him a sweet smile. Melt. My. Heart.

I love them.

Junior High Style

This morning I had an "Ok, that makes me feel a little old" moment. I was reading my email innocently enough and looked at the ad email from Gap Outlet subject line: "Looks we <3"

Yes. That is a braided leather belt. I know they've been back "in" for awhile. I have one from Forever 21 that I wore while I was pregnant with Hallie. But, today I realized...."Hey, fashions really do come back full circle to be in style. I remember wearing one in JUNIOR HIGH."

Cue old feeling moment, I am witnessing a fashion re-birth.
